Wednesday 5th December
Firstly, apologies that it has been so long since our last update.
Unfortunately, our singer Hayley-Ann contracted chicken pox around 4 weeks ago and has been unable to perform. Thankfully she is now out of quarantine, and is almost back to her usual self!
We will be taking the rest of the year off from gigging in order to work on writing some new tracks and prepare our 2008 tour, but we will be back around February time next year with loads of new gig dates and more than a few brand new songs for you all!
If you would like to see us play in your home town then please email us and we will do our best! In the mean time you can of course, buy our 'Dirty Little Secrets' EP, or our merchandise from the shop page of this website.
We'd like to wish everyone a very happy christmas and new year and we hope you have a great time over the festive season!
Thursday 11th October
Our new EP 'Dirty Little Secrets' is now on general release, along with our new merchandise range, via the shop page on this website and firstly we'd like to say a big thank you to all the magazines, newspapers, radio, friends, family and fans who came down to the Launch Party last Saturday.
The venue was almost at capacity with over 200 people through the doors and we hope you all enjoyed the night as much as we did. After months of hard work and planning we're really so pleased with how everything went on the night and we couldn't have done it without the support of everyone involved and everyone who came to support us!
Make sure you look out for features on the night in various local media such as the ET, ESP, Art & Soul, and also on Radio Cambridge over the coming weeks! Our official photographers were on hand too and we'll be putting up the photos they took in our Gallery as soon as we can!
We have a brand new Forum up and running now so please sign up and leave us a message!
Our new Street Team page has also 'gone live' online and provides any potential new members with information and advice on helping promote us as well as the opportunity to sign up and receive free promo material and discounted gig entry and merchandise.
Over the next couple of months we'll be focusing on putting together a tour ready for next year, as well as writing new material so make sure you keep up to date with everything here, via Myspace, or by signing up to our Mailing List
Thanks once again for making our first official CD Launch such a fantastic experience for us!
Tuesday 4th September
We are now just five weeks away from the CD Launch Party and almost ready to rock. We've put the new, improved version of 'Lesson Learnt' up on myspace for you-Let us know what you think! It will appear on the EP which we're going to be releasing via our own, brand shiny new record label, Mooch*Star Records.
We'll also be uploading one of the other new songs from the EP onto myspace a couple of weeks before the launch party. The press invites have now been sent and tickets for the Launch Night are available online via this websites 'Live dates' page!
It also looks as though we'll be supporting a major chart topping band in November this year and we've been asked to send copies of the new release to more than one national and international major label!
Tuesday 28th August
The EP is now fully recorded and mixed. All 3 songs sound amazing and we are pleased to finally confirm that one of our most popular tracks, Lesson Learnt has been updated and re-recorded especially for the EP. The mastering will be complete by the end of this week and the artwork should be completed by the end of next week. Thanks to Emily who managed to interpret our somewhat vague ideas into some great images for the front and inside covers and also to Mel for the technical support in getting them from paper to computer!
Further to our previous update on this news page, the mixing was actually moved to Miloco Studio's in London rather than Strongroom as we'd previously planned. We'd like to thank Matt Hyde for all his hard work and for doing such a great job, both with the recording and mixing of the tracks.
In the last update we also mentioned a forthcoming feature on the EP in Art & Soul Magazine which will be out at the end of this month. This edition of the magazine will actually now feature Hayley-Ann as its covergirl and the first review of the EP itself so do keep an eye out in your local venues/ stockists!
We've also received rave reviews for our live show frrm StreetVoice Magazine which you can find via myspace. We'll be posting a copy of this review on the 'Press' page of the website in the next few days.
Ticket sales for the CD Launch Party at Radius Peterborough on 6th October 2007 are now starting to come in thick and fast so once again we must remind you all to order your tickets via the 'Live Dates' page of this website in order to avoid disappointment! Friday 3rd August
We've just returned from the studio and the recording for the forthcoming EP is nearly complete-Just the vocals to go now. Further to our last update we changed the studio at the last minute. The recording was actually done at Chapel Studios in the U.K purely because we loved the vibe there and there were less distractions around!
We'll still be using Strongroom to mix the finished product over the next few weeks though so we've really got the best of both worlds as both studios have some legendary history to them! The songs have also benefitted from the experience of our amazing engineer, Matt Hyde who worked some really long hours with Shaun, Nathan and Tom, to get the songs just right and we're really excited about how they're going to sound once the vocals are recorded.
We'll be back at Chapel over the next week or so to lay down the vocals and the new merch range is almost ready. The initial art work for the cover is looking great too so its all coming together nicely.
A quick reminder though to all our fans-The EP Launch Party tickets are now on sale via our Live Dates page and they are limited so please make sure you have purchased your tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment.
Next month we'll also be featuring in Art & Soul magazine and more press will be confirmed in the next few days so keep your eyes peeled...
Sunday 24th June
Firstly, our apologies once again to all the people who were disappointed at the cancellation of our Guildhall show last Saturday. We assure you it was not a decision we took lightly and we fought as hard as we could to protect the future of the show. Unfortunately we came up against too much red tape thanks to rules and regulations forced upon us at the last minute by Peterborough City Council, and we were left with no choice but to pull out of the show.
On a lighter note we have now chosen the studio in which we will record our forthcoming EP - We recently spent the day in London visiting a number of studios to make sure we are recording in the best possible environment, and working with the best possible people for our sound! We will be at Strongroom studios in London in Aug/Sept to record 3 tracks, and the artwork for the cover is already progressing well. We can’t tell you which songs will be making it onto the EP, but lets just say an old Respond classic will be updated and re-recorded and 2 previously unreleased tracks will also feature….we’ve decided not to release any further details about the EP itself so if you want to be the first to know which tracks we’re referring to, and grab a copy then make sure you go to our gigs page and get your tickets for the Launch Party on October 6th at Radius now!
The CD launch will not only be the first opportunity to get hold of our new EP but there’ll be an all new merch range launching on the night as well, which will tie in with the EP, plus we plan to unveil at least 3 brand new Respond songs, if not more, on the night too - could you ask for more?!?
For those of you who can’t make it on the night though (although we hope you all can!) there is no need to despair - we’ve already confirmed at least 3 further internet providers and retailers who are happy to stock the EP nationwide so you won’t miss out!
Also we’ve just been confirmed to play at yet another festival, Sugarlive 2007, this year on July 21st in Margate and we hope to see those of you who hail from that area there!
There are also some promising developments on the record label front, and although we can’t say too much right now as we don’t want to jinx it for ourselves, we promise that we will keep you fully updated with the latest developments as and when we can!
For those of you who haven't yet signed up, our mailing list is the best way to stay up to date with all our news as and when it happens!
Tuesday 5th June
Welcome to Responds new, revamped website! As you can see we have updated the look and all the features such as the MP3 player and added a Press page for all of you to view.
We would like to thank you for your patience with the old website and apologies for the relentless spam we had on the old forum but we have now introduced extra security which should hopefully stop this.
Many thanks to our new Website Designer, Andy Hunt for doing such a grand job!
Friday 1st June
It’s now official that we will be launching our debut EP and brand new merchandise range at Radius in Peterborough on October 6th 2007.
Support comes from our great friends, London based Cattiva, whose lead singer has worked with the likes of Madonna and Elton John. Tickets will be £4.00 in advance via our website or the venue itself within the next 2 weeks, and you can expect a full 90 minute set from us, with at least a 60 minute set from Cattiva.
The EP will be available via the new online shop page on our website after the launch party, but we’re also looking at making it as accessible as possible so watch for news regards iTunes and local music stores as well!
Monday 21st May
‘Not Like That’ is now available to hear via myspace but the live album teaser versions of each track will only be online until they reach 1000 plays, at which time they will be replaced with the next live track.
Lots of you are asking us to make them downloadable but we’re afraid that won’t be possible yet. If you really like a track please make sure you get your friends, family and pets to message us as the better response a track gets the higher chance you have of it being selected to go on the EP and future album!
