Following on from a memorable gig at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club and the city’s own Met Lounge, Respond are looking forward to hitting London with their biggest gig yet in the capital.

The four-piece, which features brothers Shaun and Nathan Abela, singer Hayley-Ann Roberts and bassist Tom Michell, are playing downstairs at The Garage, in Highbury, London, on Thursday, May 11th, alongside a pair of soon-to-be-signed bands from www.myspace.com.

Hayley-Ann said: “We are organising three coaches for it. We want as many people as possible down there.”

The band has also been to Pravda Studios in Leeds to record four new tracks. They are currently giving away copies of their demo at gigs, with all the copies they brought to The Met Lounge last week snapped up in seconds.

The band has also made forays onto the airwaves, getting played on Lite FM and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.

Hayley-Ann said: “Before the gig at The Met Lounge (on Friday 21st April), Radio Cambridgeshire rang us and said they would like to record our set live. They did an interview with us down the backstairs of the club.

“They have had the most feedback they have ever received for an unsigned band.”
Since then, the radio station has asked the band to do an acoustic set live on air.
